For the first time ever, im releasing my very first two charcoal video. over the summer i’ve been relocating to a new studio and during my move i found the original copies of my first two charcoal videos. “Sketching the portrait-with casey baugh” was my first ever charcoal video created almost 20 years ago at the age of 17. This video has never been released through my site and after rewatching it now, i feel like there might be some fun information that im excited to share with you, not to mention a few charcoal techniques that i’ve long forgotten about.

With this video, im also re-releasing my second video “the masters portrait” in which i draw my mentor, richard schmid, from life. Im very grateful to richard for allowing me to draw him as well as share his valuable knowledge with us all in this 10 year old video.
